Anna E. Roderick (McDonald) “Betty” of Somerville passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 94. Devoted wife of the late Arthur J. Roderick. Loving mother of Elizabeth “Betsy” Kachoris and her husband Thomas, James “Jim” Roderick and his wife Diane, Patricia “Patti” DiFraia and her husband James, and the late Kenneth “Ken” Roderick. Cherished grandmother of Carolyne, Jennifer, Thomas, Valerie, Linsey, Marybeth, Daniel, Molly, John and Julia. Also survived by her 17 adored great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
Betty was a lifelong resident of Somerville and an employee of Star Market on Beacon Street for 25 years. She enjoyed traveling to Prince Edward Island to visit with family and friends. In her free time she enjoyed playing bingo, doing jigsaw puzzles, reading and doing various knitting, crochet and cross stitch projects which she would gift to her family.
Visitation at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street in Cambridge on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:30 am. Funeral mass to follow at St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue, in Cambridge at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
