Luis Chaves 01Chaves, Luis A., of Arlington, December 27th, 2015. Pre-deceased by his loving wife Hilda (Barros) Chaves. Loving father of Laura Caprio and her husband Ron, Joan “Nina” Chaves-Collins, Michael and his wife Michele. Cherished grandfather of Mark and Jessica Caprio, and Isabel Fiasconaro. Beloved brother of Gervasio A. DeChaves and his wife Filomena. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends. Visiting hours at the Rogers & Hutchins Funeral Home, 292 Mass. Ave., ARLINGTON, on, Tuesday, December 29th, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.

Funeral mass at St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Ave. , Cambridge on Wednesday, December 30th, 2015 at 9:00 am. Internment will be at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge. Luis was a former “Registrar” of the Cambridge Council of the Boy Scouts of America from 1979 to 1998, A Scout Leader of Troop 41 of Cambridge, a recipient of the St. George Medal, the Silver Beaver Award for his years of dedication, and active in the Order of the Arrow. Luis was also a 4th degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 74 Somerville. He was also the President of the St. Anthony’s Church building committee in Cambridge. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Spirit of Adventure Council, 411 Unquity Road, Milton, MA 02186.
