What Do I Do... ?
When someone we love passes away, it is an emotional time and also a confusing time for many. Most people do not know what to do in the event of someone’s death. You are not alone. We can help you through this difficult time, but there may be things that you need to do first. Please take a few moments to read the following procedures below and as always we are here 24 hours a day to help you.

When someone dies in a hospital or nursing home...
When someone dies in a hospital or nursing home notify the funeral home or ask the nursing staff to do so. When all of the necessary paperwork has been completed by the facility we can arrange to have your loved one transferred from the hospital or nursing home to our funeral home.

When someone dies at home...
When someone dies at home and he/she is under hospice care then call the hospice nurse or doctor and they will come to the house to fill out the necessary paperwork to allow us the come to your home and transfer your loved one to our funeral home.
If they are not under hospice care then call 911 first and then call the funeral home.

When someone dies suddenly or unattended...
If someone passes away and they are not currently under supervised medical care then this is what is called an unattended death. The first thing you should do is call 911 or your local police station, then you can contact us or have a close family member or friend contact us for you.

When an unattended death occurs many times the deceased is transferred to the medical examiners office for further investigation. We will work as a liaison for you with the Medical Examiner’s Office to arrange for the release of your loved one.

When someone dies away from home...
Sometimes people die away from, whether they have moved away and wish to be buried back here or they pass away unexpectedly on a trip. Contact the funeral home immediately and we will arrange everything with the proper agencies to have your loved one brought back home.
