Maria Albertina (DaSilva) Peixinho
May 28, 1926 – May 11, 2023
Maria Albertina (DaSilva) Peixinho, 96, longtime resident of
Somerville, died peacefully at Copley Nursing Home in Stoughton,
on May 11, 2023. She was the devoted wife of the late Evaristo
R. Peixinho.
Born in Sao Mateus, Pico, Acores, Portugal, she was the
daughter of the late Manuel G. DaSilveira and Leonor G.
DaSilveira, the sister of the late Maria V. DaSilva, and Manuel G.
DaSilva. Maria immigrated to the United States with her family in
1959, from Faial, Acores, Portugal and settled in Somerville.
Maria was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed baking and
cooking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Loving mother of Roger P. Peixinho, and his wife Rita, Robert M.
Peixinho and his wife Doreen. Cherished grandmother of Nicholle
Carroll and her husband Brandon and Alexander Peixinho.
Loving aunt of Edward DaSilva and his wife Sue.
Visitation at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street in Cambridge on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
Funeral mass to follow at St. Anthony’s Church, 400 cardinal Medeiros Avenue in Cambridge at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
